MY NEW ACCOUNT, PLEASE READ

This is my new account, please add that to your friends instead of Weatherstorm.

I've been working on organizing my new photos for the past few weeks. I look forward to posting them on there.

My Nikon d70s is a dream! I have soooo much being presented to me in the form of photography jobs and commission work, etcetera. Since the range of photos I've taken is in the thousands, I'm only going to post a small percentage of what I take on my Vespere account. Unfortunately, due to the risk of my work being circulated over the internet, I must watermark each of the pictures I post from now on.

ALSO ...

Look for my new webpage coming soon! I will announce it on the Vespere account when it is up and running. I anticipate it being a good resource guide for photography-related needs, in addition to an extensive gallery of my work. DeviantArt will only be a precursor to the main event.

I remember the day I registered Weatherstorm two years ago as if it were two months ago. So much has happened since then, and yet so much has still yet to happen. I've made some kick-butt friends here on DA! Some came and went, some still live on in my life... it has been a truly wonderful experience.

Well ... look for more updates on the other account. If you've forgotten by now it's:

Purchased. A Journey Begins

I am a somewhat proud owner of a Nikon D70s!

The 'somewhat' comes from the fact I don't have any lenses to go along with it. I spent all my funds on the body to find out the kind of lens I want will cost me upwards of $1,500. D'oh!

My photography pal loaned me a 35-70mm f3.3-5.6 lens. Typical portrait lens. Unfortunately by the time I got home with this new beast it was all dark inside. I got to play around with the low-light situation a bit, using the tungsten white balance feature. Incredible! Even with this slow lens my pictures were turning out sharp using a dim fill-flash! I can only begin to dream about what I'll be able to achieve full daylight with a tripod and a 1.4-1.8 85mm lens! $600 later, that is. And that's after I purchase the 17-55 Nikkor I want (going value: $1,350).

Lots of money in the 'sport', but the rewards are more than worth it. Ever since I got the camera I have job offers everywhere. In 1 1/2 months I'm going to a local concert to get band shots. If the bands are impressed, they'll want more. I also have some architectural work as well. Lots of stuff to be done! After I purchase a decent macro lens, I'll be back in business as the local flower nursery.

Exciting!

NIKON D70s!!!

I'm getting a Nikon D70s within the next few days!

I dropped my 50 hour a week job in efforts of pursuing a full time photography career with some money I have saved up.

I have lined up a few small odds & ends jobs, and in the near-distant future some weddings and commission work.

I'm so excited!

Expect further information. I'm going to dump this Deviantart account and start over (Either under the same name or an alternate one).

I'm also in the process of creating a website for my photography partners and I. This is what I've been waiting years for!

Getting Involved

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 7, 2006, 12:31 AM
Hey, I'm alive. I still log on, I'm just somewhat useless. No entries in quite some time. My camera is taking many pictures, but I guess I'm lazy to upload them. I am considering making a new account -- starting over, so to speak. It's more motivating to paint from a fress canvas rather than trying to renovate an old painting. But not yet, I want to get things in order first.

As far as I can tell, I am going to be doing some travelling. Lots of travelling. Well actually it's not vacationing as the word "travelling" tends to say, but it's actually church planting. I got involved in a church planting ministry. Crazy, huh? I may be going to Syria in May! I am excited, of course. It's going to be a challege, most likely encountering countless obstacles, but I am ready for whatever is thrown at me. I'm anticipating many wonderful photography opportunities. If I continue to pursue such a lifestyle, I aspire on working on a Mission's magazine to incorporate both my love for photography and writing. Ideas like this were only distant dreams a few months ago, and here they are becoming reality. I really have Ci'ara (nizhnynovgorod) to thank for the word about this volunteer opportunity.

I'm not an audience member, I'm an actor. I'm not a watcher, I'm a player. I'm not a fan, I'm the star. I'm not a reader, I'm a writer. I'm not a thinker, I'm a doer. I'm not a dreamer, I'm an achiever. Of course none of this would be possible on my own, which is why I have my friends and most importantly the Lord to thank. DeviantArt has had a major impact in my life. It's brought about so many friendships that have blossomed into fruitful trees. I don't know where I'd be without this place being entered into my life on that day in February about two years ago.

Although it may be long overdue, thank you to all my friends over the two years. I know it sounds like goodbye, but it's actually only the beginning if you think about it.

For those who wish to communicate with me more directly (for those friends of mine who still bother to log on) please e-mail me at vespere@gmail.com . Or visit my Myspace [link] .

Alright, so here's to many more successful captures behind the viewfinder.

To infinity ... and beyond!

After a long and beautiful flight I made it into Pennsylvania to meet the infamous Nathan (HangingGarden66)! We'd been vigorously planning this escapade for about half a year, and at first although it was just dreaming and we never figured it would take flight (npi), we'd succeeded in our brainstorming and yadda yadda, here we are!

Though it has been quite some time since I've frequented dA, I thought this would be a worthy subject of discussion for a new journal entry.

I haven't taken any pictures yet. If I could somehow could've gotten some of the beautiful view from the plane I would have probably been out of memory space by now! The clouds were amazing! PLus the view from the top was great as well. Humans are really just ants in the midst of things. When you're several miles above the ground all our little stresses, worries, and problems become almost insignificant. I didn't want to land at all! It was my first plane flight, and now I'm addicted. I just want to fly all over not for the sake of GETTING anywhere, but to see the beauty of God's creation!

So I didn't arrive here by bike like I was anticipating half a year ago. I don't know where that dream floated off to. It's still something that would be fun to do some time. Only if I had someone to venture with. This world is no fun without someone to experience it with.

So ... I hope to have a lot of fun experiences during my two weeks over here. Many stories to tell and pictures to share. I'll try to give some more updates, although I doubt anyone will read it as I haven't posted much in a year.

Well ... until next time,
Don't be afraid to put a smile on your face!
